Default Control arm problems..
If your Audi is out of warranty and you have noisy control arms try replacing just the bushings...Much cheaper...

Except you can't replace the ball joints, and they are the problem not the bushings.

Did you do it yourself, send in the arms, or is there an exchange program?

Today, no aftermarket or OEM replacement bushings are availible. Must replace entire control arm.

I think you mean the tie rod end (ball joint) recall/problem, seperate from control arm bushing issu

I talked to a new car dealer today and he (the parts manager) told me he has the bushings in stock..

Default No, on our '96 the controll arms needed replacement because of (m)
the ball joints on the outside were toast. They are un-replaceable. The inner bushings look like they are replaceable, but I don't think that they are. BTW, we replaced 6 of the total 8 controll arms on our car. Arrgh. I hope this does not happen on the 98.5.

RECALL?? What recall? I just paid 500 to replace the tie-rods? Did AoA recall them?
