convertion

I have recently bought an Audi a4 b5 1.8 I want to convert it into a quattro then work the engine i know the rear is very differnt on the quattro but its very hard to find quattro's in my country...can any one tell em what I would have to do to the the back to make this work?

i would if there were any...im really not scared of metal work i can do anything i just want to know what parts i will need to change

Search the forums, this has been asked before. It is a lot more than just swapping parts.

Transmission, driveshaft, rear differential and driveshafts,rear hubs and bearings, rear suspension, rear floorpan, gas tank.

The rear floorpan is the big thing as the FWD doesn't have space in the rear for all the AWD components, as well as the rear suspension mounts. So you have to cut it out and weld in a new one.

You need a donor car otherwise this will cost a fortune rather than just a lot.

ill keep a look out for a smashed car with frontal damage...are the suspension mounts in a different place or is it just a matter of cutting away to make space for the new components. i may just drive it with some holes in the back for a bit...
