Coolant question...
Ok. I just bought an A4 2.8. The owner has been using the normal green coolant. Not sure how long he's been using it. I called a local Audi specialist to have them flush it and putting some G12 in. However, I was told that when the G12 comes in contact with the green stuff they tend to gel up and can cause clogging issues in the heater core. And because it's virtually impossible to get every bit of the green stuff out, it's inevitable that the G12 will get mixed up with the green stuff. So, he said to just use some coolant that's compatible with all coolant types. He also said that, in his years of experience, he's never seen any abnormal damage to any parts with his approach. I called another Audi specialist and he basically said the same thing. I'm not sure what to do here. I'd rather use the G12. Is there any way to get all of the old coolant out. Maybe running a cleaner through it? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.
