Default Costly problems

I have a 00 1.8T with an APR 1.0 chip, I currently have 61k on the car. Is is unusual that I have had to replace an Oxygen sensor, and most recently spent $500+ to replace the secondary air pump (whatever that is?)to eliminate chronic check engine light codes, and occasional engine bog (not quite a stall, but close)? The car runs fine now, but I'm afraid to turn the chip back on for fear that It'll cost me. Please help.

Default Don't fear it.

A lot of it is coincidence IMO. One thing the chip can do is to reveal any issues that the car may already have. Chances are you were going to run into these issues with or without it.

Default Yes...

If the car is running fine in stock mode go ahead and enable it. Once you get a few hundred miles of driving in chipped mode the initial worry will go away. It just sucks when something breaks down, the first thing that pops up in people's minds is "did the mod cause it?". It can simply be a coincidence.

Right. It's not like the 7 PSI the turbo puts out is already on the edge

The part is $300.00, and the labor is about 2.5 hrs. $200.00+.
