Default a couple of problems with a new engine

I just recently installed a new engine. i have been going extremely easy on it.
I am currently at like 400 miles on the new engine.

I have a problems with it bogging out ALMOST as if it is hitting the rev limiter when the pedal is more than halfway to WOT. The boost gauge read about 10psi and bounces at 10psi.
Origianlly it woul get to 15psi with occasional spikes at 16psi.

I had to replace my modified K04 turbo with a new non-modified turbo.

I am wondering what the problem could be.

I have a couple of theories on this but keep in mind that I myslef am not a mechaninc, nor am i the one who originally modified this car.

1. the software on my ECU was modified to take advantage of the modified K04's larger compressor inlet and compressor wheel. Therefore the smaller compressor wheel on the new k04 is not reacting properly.

2. Sparkplugs- they are currently gaped at 0.40", which they came at. I did not regap them to 0.32". However before my TB destroyed my engine i had they same sparkplugs. gapped the same and i never had this problem.

3. Fuel filter, hasn't been changed, and the car has been sitting fro like 6 mos. where the hell is it?

4. Some kind of vacuum leak?

Any suggestions on what it could be?

You should prolly run standard software rather than a K04 platform.....wouldnt go much farther without trying another ECU. And looking for that vacuum leak.

Plugs - doubt it, pull one and look at it.

Fuel filter is below the rear pass door area...have fun. its ...a challenge. Dont cost much.

Default how do i find a vacuum leak?

also
I have the k04, why should i run standard software as opposed to k04 software?

Default sorry, read it wrong...

,,assumed you said that you replaced the ko4 with a stock k03. In that case, scratch that - focus on vacuum leaks. Start looking at all vacuum hoses - worst case is you learn where things go - best case is you find a bad fitting and Nextel it.
