Cracked Windshield

While washing my car today I was shocked to see a crack about 18" in my windshield appearing at the bottom and right in front of the driver's vision. There is no visible stone chip and no sign of any crack about 1 hour earlier when I had the car out for a drive.<br>Is a replacement windshield covered by Audi in a situation like this?<p>Stan '97 1.8Tqms

If no rock mark, then a likely warranty repair.

This has been a known problem on the late model A4s and Passats. Had heard originally it was "speed-bump" related for the cars in questions. Make it an issue with your dealer. Don't pay out of your pocket.
