Default Creaky rear suspension able to be fixed? No one seems to be able to permanently fix it.

For the last couple years my rear suspension has creaked when going over bumps. I had this problem with OEM sport suspension, NeuBils and NeuBils with 19 mm Neuspeed rear anti-sway bar. My mechanic tightens/lubes the bar/bushing, the sound goes away for a few days, then gradually comes back. We can't figure out how to fix it permanently. When we hold a stethascope up to the rear bar bushings/uplinks we hear noise coming from those, although it may be coming from somewhere else, also. Any ideas how to permanently eliminate this noise? Has anyone else experienced this?

Default I spray white lithium grease in the rear sway bushings when they creak. It goes away.

It's not a problem, per se, but something you just have to keep up with occasionally.

Do you mean the black rubber bushings that are located at the center of the bar or the ends?

Default Yeah, we did that, but the noise always comes back a few days later.

How long does the treatment last for you?

Actually, both. The two in the center and one on each end.

Default I've only had to do it once after the install. It's been a few months and ~15k miles.

The odd thing, to me, was that it only seemed to happen (or the only time I noticed) was when I got into or out of the car. This was only a week or two after the install. I thought that if it's the travel up/down of the suspension, that it was the coils and not the rear sway. I wasn't sure what to do about the coils, so I hit the rear sway with the grease just to see if it was that. I actually couldn't really get it into the bushing itself too well, so I hit the bar about 3" on both side of each bushing and then took the car for a drive and safely pushed the car into some oversteer situations to the left and right to get the grease inside the bushings. worked for me.

I only did the inner two. I thought the outers were packed.

Hmm...interesting. Sounds to be much less severe than my problem. Thanks for the info, though.

Default IIRC (which I may not), I thought the flattened part of the bar touches the uplink bushings.

Although I think I know what you're saying. I don't think you can take the outer bushings (uplink) off.

Default Once Audi replace my rear sway uplinks and claimed that the bushings were bad...

but when it came back they said that the tech found a bulletin stating that the spring squeaks on the perch and the actual spring plate needs to be greased every so often. It came back again after that tho. I'm too lazy to continually grease the plate and actually right now I'm not running my stock suspension and it's not happening anymore so who knows what it was.
