Seems to be a common problem. A lot of people have had the stalk replaced. Since I'm way out of warranty, I just live with it. Living in southern CA, I don't have have a need for cruise control. I can usually get it to engage after repeated attempts. Last night I got the resume to work for the first time in months.
The search engine must not be working right if you came up empty.

my S4 is getting this fixed today
It actually threw a DTC on my VAG-tool, I can't find the actual DTC # and description.
But it was something like incorect switch signal.
basically it's a problem in the switch in the turn signal stalk.
I'll let ya know if this doesn't solve my problem.
BTW I only had trouble with Resume and not with SET.
Have you check your ECU with someone's 1552?
