The current car/project plan:
Spend B5 money on rebuilding my 56 T-Bird. Not restoring..
5.0, 5 speed and g-machine type chassis.
Since I can do all the work myself, I think I can swing it.
I could have my Uncles old CRV for a daily driver while I do the work on the Thunderchicken this summer/fall. My garage is heated, and I would have to get a scissors lift for the bodywork.
Time is an issue, as always, however...
I will always have the T-Bird, it was my Grandfathers. This whole episode with insurance companies has left me with a distate for even looking at my B5.
The B5 as a summer driver *and* a convertible with no heat is kind of redundant. If I can get the Thunderchicken to turn and stop as well as the B5...
Thoughts, comments? I knw I will be leaving luxury for as basic as it gets ( The Thunderchicken has a power seat but manual windows...) and I cannot drive in the rain ( vacuum operated wipers and the rather expensive top has shrunk over the years...) but WTF, I can keep the B4 on the road with summer tires....
