Dash module
So my 96 A4 has a non-functional oil temp gauge, a fuel level gauge that only works above ~1/2 tank, and an oil warning light and three annoying beeps that greet me about every 3 minutes after the car is warmed up. My mechanic says that oil pressure and related functions are fine. The easy fix (oil pressure switch) had no effect, and his tracing back points to needing a new dash cluster (module) for about $675 in parts and a couple hours of labor. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am trying to decide which is worse-- the repeated gritting my teeth when the damn alarm goes off or the pain of putting another grand into an aging car.
