dealer ordered wrong car

Default dealer ordered wrong car

just recieved call from dealer today after 5months of waiting was told wrong car ordered. no quattro or sunroof! what should i ask for in return.any suggestions will be appreciated.

<br>Ask them to throw in the Quattro, or at least the sunroof, on the next one, on their tab. It's the least they can do after making you wait this long on stupid mistake. If they won't do either, I'd take my business elsewhere in a hurry. Oh, and I'd go directly to the top here ... the owner of the dealership. Don't screw around with sales people or managers who will probably just try to jerk you around. Good luck.<p>BDW '99 1.8Tqms

Default This does happen on occasion

I personally could not do without quattro. What I would do is look at all the cars they have on lot NOW and coming in SOON. Get the one that is the closest to what you want. Yes, it may not be the correct color, or have the interior you really wanted, but you now have a great bargaining tool. In this case, it SEEMS, like the dealer now has to pay for Audi's or their own mistake. The printouts clearly state what the options are on the cars...if it is wrong, then it is the fault of your salesman. If the printout is correct, but the car is wrong, then it is Audi's fault. In any case I would shoot for a 2.5% over invoice deal on the closest car you can find to what you want. <p>You really will not be able to wait ANOTHER five months.<p>Good luck.<p>Steve S.<br>97 2.8QM

If you don't mind owing a car that's not the options you originally wanted, you should ask the dealer to give you more discount on that car. Did you put down a deposit? If so you have a breach of contract---entitles you to expectancy damages-->you should get a free loaner A4 until the correct vehicle arrives--object of expectancy damages is to put you in as good a position as if the contractual obligation had been fullfilled.

Let's say you are patient, very patient. Tell the dealer that you want the exact same car, for exact same price, just as '00 model WITH Xenon and Sideguard.<p>Just an idea.<p>- Stan<br>

to see what rights it gives you. You may want to talk to an attorney if the language seems unclear. I suspect the contract contains clauses limiting the dealer and Audi's liability -- make sure you know how they protected themselves from this event before you demand too much. In any event, if you approach the dealer knowing what your options are and are willing to accept another car on the lot or available in a dealer swap, you should be able to get yourself one great deal. Use their mistake to your advantage.

Default Should ....but probably wont

If Audi messed up...and not the dealer...should the dealer get absolutely nothing..as well as the salesman. Is it their fault? What I am saying that there should be a half way point in this type of transaction. No one has to get totally mangled.<p>Steve S.<br>97 2.8QM

Default Walk away...(more)

This kinda happened to us, except that we lost only the trip computer. The dealer wanted to get us past the long wait and traded allocation for a build-in-progress car. If our car were missing the sunroof or any other major option we would've walked - our deposit was fully refundable. <p>Basically, if you have the order sheet and the car doesn't match it I'd say all deals are off - after all you aren't even talking about the same car anymore. <p>Be careful too that the dealer has not sold YOUR car to someone willing to pay more. The dealer should have known the description of the ordered car before it hit the boat. It seems highly suspicious that you are finding this out after 5 months. I'd suspect the worst.<p>JohnO
