Diff bearings?

Hi Guys,could use some help with this one....About a month ago I started getting a roaring/vibration sound coming from the back of the car,took it to a repair shop I use and they said it was a bearing,changed the left rear bearing and the noise went away for about (3)day then it was back...even louder than ever! Had the other (3) bearings changed and i still have the noise. not as load as before but still load.
when Im on the hwy I can hear it,if there's a curve going left the
the noise damm near go's away! When I go around a curve going right the noise is at its loudest. The noise sounds like its coming from the back then again im hearing that Sh*t in my sleep now!
now the repair shop says they "Think" its the rear diff bearings/
The car has 130,000mi on it.
Has anyone gone through this??? Or can shed some light on it.

Left rear wheel bearing is bad.

Diff berating?

All the wheel bearings have been replaced.

They may have damaged the new bearing(s) when installing. Would be why it was quiet for 3 days and then got noisy again as it went bad. Try the left rear again and tell them to be careful not to damage it.

Nope, not diff bearing. I definitely typed "wheel bearing".

Have you done any investigation into this? Like maybe jack the car up and give that wheel a spin by hand. Guesswork, and in particular guesswork done via the internet, is a poor substitute for diagnostics.

Another thing to consider, as a guy who's driven B5's for 10 years, I have a good feel for wheel bearing noise. I had the usual symptoms a couple months ago, that singing noise that gets worse when I turn the wheel. Then I noticed some feathering on a front tire. My toe was way out on the left front side. Like .29 instead of the .18 target. The other 3 were toed within limits. After realignment, the singing was gone.

I'm not saying my solution is yours, but it can produce similar symptoms. Have you changed tie rod ends since your last alignment? Any feathering on a tire?
