diff. slipping?

diff. slipping?
has anyone heard of a rear diff. slipping? i'm currently driven a 1.8t quattro '98...the problem is that i'm getting a crunching noise when making a left turn...the sound is coming from the rear passenager side...

Re: could be your control arms... ill be honest, ive never heard of stock trans having problems...
the main reason why is that i've picked up rennsport springs...dam i think i'll have a big bill to pay because i brought my '98 1.8t quattro into the mechanic to see and he didn't know what the problem was ...but he said it's not the wheel bearing????...can it be the strut mount????
