direct plug in
96 a4 quattro v6 and i wanted to know whats involved with installing an aftermarket radio.is it direct plug in with a wire harness or will i have to run speaker wires to each speaker because of the amp and if so if anybody can tell me how to install the aftermarket radio and all?thanks

The easiest is to buy a radio with pre amp outputs. When I first bought
mine I asked around at some local stereo shops and they said I would either need to replace the rear speakers or buy some special pre-amp adapter because normal pre-amp outs will not work with the Audi rear amp. Their story sounded kind of fishy so I went out and bought a radio with front and rear pre-amp outputs. Ran speaker level to the front, pre-amp to the back. Works perfect. Nothing special needed other than the harness adapter and the face plate.
