Disabling headlight washers
My driver side headlight washer was sticking in the up position. In the 7 years of ownership I have yet to use the headlight washer on purpose. After reading posts about people loosing the washer cap due to activating the washers at highway speed, I decided it was time to disable them. There were some discussion about how to do this on the forum but I could not find a working link to the exact instruction. After some time attempting to decipher the Bentley Manual electrical wiring diagram this is what I did:
1) remove knee bolster
2) remove big brown relay 389

3) remove the relay socket from the carrier plate by lifting 4 small tabs. The socket slides out from the back.

4) cut the fat red/violet wire and insulate the exposed ends with electrical tape. You can also wire a switch connecting the two ends of the red/violet wire you just cut mount it somewhere to allow enable/disable the headlight washers.
Done!
