Default Distance between mounting bracket and control arm?

he one I am taking out is nearly 65mm, looking in the book I have it says they should be 47mm, what should I do? Put it exactly the same as the one I took out? Both the uppers are currnetly about 65mm away from the mounting bracket.

(sorry about starting a new post on this)

Default clamp bolt never seize?

The clamp bolt I took out, I ended up using a sawzall, lots of penetrating grease, and a sledgehammer. To anyone that has done thier control arms: would you put neverseize on the new bolt?

Default Yes, put anti seize on the bolt. and, put it in backwards, if you have air tools...

that way you can get your impact gun on it should you ever want to take it off again.

Default backwards?

what about putting in the shock absorber to lower control arm(front) bolt in backwards? that way if it had to come out I wouldnt have to mess around with the lower front(rear) arm. since when I took it out it would have had to "go through" the rear lower arm. Or is the nut that goes on it too big? - that it would get in the way of the lower rear arm? not sure if you understand what I am trying to describe.

Yep, you can put the lower shock bolt in backwards too.

Default got the arm in and working fine, but ABS light is on

now. I am guessing a sensor right there by the rotor, but is there any reason that it should have gone on after replacing the control arm? Too much banging at the clamp bolt? any ideas?

Kris-thanks for the confirmation on reversing the bolts.

Default You might have dislodged some crud, which is now blocking the sensor...

or the harness got damaged somehow...

Default still safe to drive?

even though that light is on, do you think it is still safe to drive till I can fix it? Since the light is on it just turns the ABS off right? and once i fix it, should the light go out? or does it need to be reset?

Default Yep, should be. Once it's fixed, the light should go off on it's own..

it might take a few drives, but it will.
