Does anyone know how to program a 96 a4 remote

Here's the procedure for newer ones, but i think it also works with the older cars:
First you need two keys, and one remote.
1.Take one key, put it in the ignition.
2.Turn the ignition to ON, but you don't need to start the car.
3. Close the drivers door (all other doors should also be closed, including the trunk).
4. With the second key, lock the drivers door manually. This puts the receiver into learning mode. All other doors should lock as well. If they do not, then you have a problem at the lock tumbler switch on the drivers door handle.
5. Press the UNLOCK button on the remote.
6.Manually unlock the drivers door with the key.
7.Remove the other key from the ignition. That's it, the remote should now be reprogrammed.
