Draft??????
Ok.....If we needed the National Guard to fight desert Storm.(That is Correct....Right?) What are we going to do if we go to war this time. The National Guard will have to stay here to defend the nation.

i wouldn't be concerned with the draft at this point. it would take a large scale ground war for us to require conscription again (not to mention it takes an act of congress to make it happen!) the reserves are often used in conflict because they provide services that aren't provided by active duty (as i understand it) -- we don't have a bunch of non-wartime work for tank betallions, etc.

They stopped the draft after vietnam (doubt it needed to be mentioned).
The National Guard actually goes overseas more than you think. Eg. - during the Bosnian conflict my father (a major/lt. colonel in the N.G.) was "called up" and spent 270 days there.
Our military is large enough and technologically advanced enough to defend the nation and launch a sustained campaign without resorting to a draft. Us civvies are safe....

Draft is for major land war.
The way I have understood all the persons speaking of war is that this is a war against terrorists and thier backers. What will be needed are qualified fighter / bomber jocks and people who can cap someone at 1200yrd not fresh cannon fodder.

if your 18.. then you are Required to sign up for the draft www.sss.gov or they came fine you $90,000 or something, but nonetheless.. i feel that you should
