drivability question....
Got a "spare" 99' A4 1.8t, and have slowly been replacing all the wear components. I put a new turbo in it (K04, but stock boost and software), put a test pipe in (didn't fit right, so only running the front o2 sensor), replaced all the pads/rotors, and later this week all the control arms.... - it had 150k when we got it, and 175k now. Anyway, it runs great, doesn't burn any oil, starts right up etc, BUT:
If you push the gas (any amount) and hold it steady, it doesn't pull evenly, but has lots of little hesitations until maybe 4000 rpm or so where it seems fine. What might cause this? I pulled the bosh 3 electrode plugs out and replaced them with iridiums, and it made no difference. It also did this before and after the new turbo, and before and after taking out the plugged up cat. When I pulled the plugs, they were black like its running rich. I also seafoamed it, synthetic oil change, new air filter, etc (just as part of normal maintenance stuff), but no change. Thoughts?

i dont know why i said anything about a chip i got messed up reading another post befor this one. not real sure on the o2 sensor its worth a try or have it scanned thats about all i could think of also thought the dv could be leaking untill its hit full boost? just a thought
