I ordered my A4 w/o sunroof (special order took ~ 4 months)
I have plenty of head room even with a helmet.
Leg room is also more than adequate.
If you have a short driver in the family, you can raise the seats and you can adjust the steering wheel up/down and fore/aft, so anyone should be able find a comfortable setting.
Of course driving it is the best part!

However, if you have long legs, you will have a hell of a time fitting anyone over 3' tall behind you. My 4 year old complains that it is too tight back there for her, so I put her booster seat behind the passenger seat, and the 2.5 year old's baby seat goes in the middle back. Only coats/cargo behind me when I have the munchkins riding in the car.
Twice, while waiting for the salesman to bring a vehicle around to test drive, I tried to get in the back of an A4 myself. I actually fit back there both times, but it was not at all comfortable (knees jammed all the way to the sides of the seat in front), and getting out required MAJOR contortions and was not at all dignified. Much as I respect the guy that sold me my A4, I have a hard time visualizing how he fit himself (6'2") his wife, and three teenagers into his car, as he claims to have done. That was probably the last time the teens ever rode with him.
Hope this helps...
