E-code/bulb problem -->
Yesterday morning when I started up my A4, the warning light came with that loud BEEP! indicating that a light is out, which I found to be the right (pass. side) headlight in my e-code. So, yesterday, on my way home from work, I stop by an Audi dealer and they replace the bulb under warranty, which is very nice of them since they're not the US spec lights that came with the car. So, I leave the dealer happy that it only took about 20 minutes and now I can see again on the right side...or can I? Once I hit some back roads that it's just me, I can definitely tell that something is wrong. So, I head back to the dealer. The one tech. and I pull the car around to wall behind the service bays and sure enough...the right side is much dimmer than the left. He went and got the old bulb (which is now sitting on my desk) to see if it was the same brand/type. Yup, it is.
This pic was just taken this morning after the right headlight was replaced last night with a OSRAM 55W H7 bulb from the dealer. The same type of bulb that came out of the Valeo e-code. So, what's the problem? Why do I have this "hole" in the middle of the light?

about 2 weeks ago with the 'old' bulb...

As you can see by the 'old' pic, this "hole" wasn't there. So, is the bulb faulty or the projector in my e-code failing or failed when the bulb blew?
I haven't tried switching the bulbs yet, since it was cold & raining last night. But, it's going to be my next step unless someone can tell me what the problem is.
TIA!
