E-Code Question
Yo Guys,
Was wondering what's the deal with everyone so hyped up about E-Codes? I mean I know they're clear cornered basically, and have different lenses instead of the plastic US Projectors, also you have the cool German Factor. As well as a place for a xenon bulb and ballists. But I have the U.S. Stock Projector one piece lights, and If I did the clear corners, and planned to stay with Halogen bulbs, wouldn't it be just as good? Also does anyone have any close ups of the someone who has done the Clear Corners on the U.S. Projector lights? I've read some horror stories, and some people say it doesn't look good, was just curious on how it looks. Thanks guys!

the light cutoff is different...
plus there are halogen and Xenon ecodes... not all are for xenons. they also have a place for the city light bulbs. as well as the different turn signal surround.
the light cutoff on the low beams is different from US.
I put them in, and actually thought I got more light from my stock xenon housings than the ecodes. I had done the clear corner mod. it can look fine.

From what I've read on the forums, I don't think the e-codes are an order of magnitude better than the DOT versions. Euros make a bigger difference on older Audis compared to the crummy DOT lights. The lights on my '00 are pretty good and probably better than my ecodes on my 4ks. I'd spend the money on something more worthwhile or get xenons (if you like all the scattering light you get when driving in the rain and fog.
