Gah after about 2 hours of researching Ecodes I am still throroughly confused..I have a 2001 a4 2.8, and was wondering where to pick up a pair? Also are they streetlegal in the US (since they dont have yellow corners?)? Finally do they make them with black, smoked, or carbon fiber housing instead of just chrome? Thanks in advance

Valeo is the way to go. If you have OEM HID's you can just order housings...
Yes they are street legal and you can get Valeo through AWE, Nuespeed through SPP and there are a ton of other vendors who sell them as well. They make them smoked but those are usually on fleebay and are cheap. Keep in mind you get what you pay for and usually the cheaper ones will leak or accumulate condensation very easily.

no, without the "passive yellow reflectors" they do not meet US DOT specs. so no, they are not legal...

AWE tuning sells ecodes... awetuning.com
if you want the black or smoked (never seen carbon) they sell them at LLtek (although i would never suggest giving LLtek anyone's buisness- HATE HATE HATE LLtek)
but if you have a '01 you should just do the DIY clear-corner mod... it's cake, i did min myself...
this will get rid of the yellow (which is the biggest appeal to e-codes for me) the light-output of REAL e-codes is a little different, but i don't have a problem with my USDOT headlights

(oh, and if/when u do it, you should get the bulbs that are silver yet blink yellow, i have them and they improve the look 100%)
