ECU problems.

Well, my trouble from yesterday turns out to be my chipped ECU. The car continued its bogging and then completely died on me again today. So I put in the original ECU and it is now running perfectly.

My APR v3 chip in spare ECU has been running great since December. And before that this ECU ran perfectly with v1.2 since July. The chip is soldered in, no socket. Can it really just fail and cause intermittent power loss and stalling?

The ECU is going back to APR. I hope they can fix it back up.

P.S. You know the worse thing? Today, shortly after swapping back to stock on the side of the highway, a pair of brand new 528s stopped beside and behind me. They went after it when the light turned green. I don't do usually race anyway, but knowing that I couldn't hang just sucked.

I had exactly the same problem.

My GIAC-chipped ECU ran fine for several weeks. Then it died. Same symptoms as yours. Sent it back and Garrett replaced the chip and tested it. After I reinstalled it I only got 47 miles out of it before it died again. Gotta be the ECU itself, I'm told, not the chip.
