ECU Questions

I bought a passat ecu from a 1998 passat 5spd, it has a the same part number that is on my ecu out of my 1998 a4 with quattro, do I have to recode this ecu to work with my car or is it good to go?

won't make much of a difference. Quattro is completly mechanical.

it should work just fine BTW.

Curious - what do you hope to gain from this - did the Audi ecu "fail"?

no, it will still be cheaper

plus the cost of the trip I don't really count cause I was planning to go up north for a vacation anyways. I'm getting a lot more done than apr's kit, I'm upgrading both the oil and feed lines, ceramic coating the test pipe, and manifold, plus getting the tuning done. So the software is made for my car, not an off the shelf chip, which it seems everyone has had issues with with the big turbos.
