EFK question.

So I'v got the SPP EFK, and I'm going to install it, but it seems without a thermostatic fan control switch, this isn't going to do jack. My question is for anyone that has an EFK, do you just run what they gave you or did you buy a control switch?

iirc you wire it into the a/c fan....

the small electric one already has a switch.

The fan gets wired to the secondary/AC fan

Therefore it will go on ONLY when the AC is on or the coolant temp reaches the temp that kicks on the secondary fan (210 degrees iirc)

I bought a neuspeed 190 fan switch so that the fan comes on sooner - more like when the OEM fan comes on fully.

You can also get a universal fan switch that can be adjusted to whatever temp that you want...

I heard the neuspeed one is crap... any other options?

The neuspeed one looks exactly like the OEM unit, And has worked fine for me - almost a year now. At the time of install, I tested the temp that it should turn on at and it was perfect. I think that it is prolly just a VAG part from another application. dunno.

I did a search on this back then and someone posted that there is a rabbit or golf thermosdat that is a better temp - but I could not find the part number or exact application. Hmmm B6 1.8Ts have an electric primary fan - maybe see if the switch is the same design, that one may work, or just get an adjustable one - WYSIWYG has had good luck w/ his...
