Electric Fan relay? Overheating with AC on
I have been trying to figure out the source of the overheat.
It doesn't over heat no matter how hard I drive with out the AC on
With the AC on, however, temperature goes up usually on stop and go traffic, or after a little load on the engine on the highway.
I'm to the point that starting to believe the car is possessed.
I have just replaced a water pump and a thermostat.
The radiator is about 3 years old
Fan clutch is about 3 years old (Working fine. Just tested)
Just did back flushing yesterday, and bled the system.
Took it to a mechanic today to evac and refill AC refrigerant.
Cooling system pressure tested, and no leak detected.
Electric fan does work.
The mechanics believes that it is the electric fan relay since it only spin at low speed even with MAX AC. He said with MAX AC it is supposed run on full speed, and he tried to find the relay, couldn't find it. He didn't charge me tho.. not even for the AC EVAC and REFILL.
Anybody has any idea?
If you know where the fan relay is at, please let me know, and it will be very helpful.
Thank you.
