Default Engine Chip

I have 99.5 1.8TQ w/Tip..
I am deciding to go with Wetterauer or Neuspeed P-Chip..
since Circle Audi (long Beach) will honor all the warranty except on ECU unit..
i need some suggestion which is better...
Thanks

If you want to consider a Neuspeed chip vs. the Wett, wouldn' t a more appropriate comparison be between the Wett and the VBL chip that Greedspeed sells since they're both 1 bar chips?

By the way, I' m also in SoCal and still weighing my chip options. Most impressed with what I read about APR thus far but I'm waiting to see what Neuspeed comes up with for their drive by wire chip. It would be nice to do business with a local vendor (Greedspeed that is).

I fully believe in supporting the local businesses, especially when it comes to engine tuning. I was very glad to find that AWE and GIAC are somewhat near to me (90 miles is a pleasant drive in the A4.) So I got a GIAC chip, and I have no regrets whatsoever.
Todd's service is excellet.

If you have a local distributor for either GIAC or APR, give those two companies some serious consideration.
If your local tuners deal with Neuspeed and Wett, then I would suggest you get one of those. I have no experience with either of them.

If warranty repairs are a concern to you, then buy a spare ECU. It adds a lot to the upgrade price. But you cannot put a pricetag on peace of mind.

Good luck,
Peter

thank you all..
I decided to go with Wett..
I read through APR, TAP, Neuspeed..etc..
but I guess the warranty was biggest issue to me..
since Circle Audi.. located in Long Beach ( got my VW GTI there, prior to A4) service is great.
and you guys should give them a call.. so far only dealer that will honor the warranty with chip installed..

again.. thans all..

p/s i'm installing it tomorrow..
will gt back tomorrow with result..

hello again

got my wett chip on Sat..
0.867 bar didn't work.. so they installed 1.0 and
it's working like a magic..
so far, 2 days of driving.. it was definately worth it..
I do recommend to all others out there...
I couldn't tell much in 4th or 5th gear..
but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear works like a magic..

will update more as I go on..
