Engine Cleaning

how do you guys clean under the hood? is it as simple as just rinsing? I'm assuming all the parts are waterproof. Because i'm about to clean it in a few seconds.

I clean it by...

putting the same stuff that I use on my dash(Meguirs stuff) on all the plastic containers, tubes, and engine covers. It makes them look brand new. I also use that on the weather stripping. I just use a damp cloth to clean any metal parts and other things that shouldn't have the vinyl stuff on it. I definately would not spray the motor with a water hose or anything like that if that is what your planning.

I use lots of simple green, let soak, wash with old rag, let dry, then armorall the black parts

this is what I did,

cover up the battery, those plastic connectors on the right side of the engine, and anything else that has a wire coming out of it with plastic wrap, Then I just hose the engine down.

I have only did that once and just make sure you run the engine until it dried up completely. Since my engine is very clean now I just wipe the engine off with Vylnex on the plastic and rubber parts.
