Engine idle RPM drops when using windows or AC
My '01 A4 1.8T has done this since I purchased it (used)
When the car is idling and I roll the windows down, the engine drops in rpm. Almost like the electrical load causes the engine to slow. I really don't think that window motors should do that. It does it on all 4 windows, and it's mostly pronounced once the windows is all the way up or down and the motor stalls.
Also, putting the AC on causes the idle to drop pretty significantly as well; to the point where I keep my foot on the gas just to keep it up to normal.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I think it's time to change the motor. Is it part of the throttle body?
Also, will a swap out require VAG-COM intervention or will the ECU figure out what's going on?
