Engine knocking/rattling question
Hey all,
I have a 99.5 1.8T FWD... Under moderate to heavy acceleration there is a nasty knocking/rattling sound coming from the engine (only heard when the windows are down) sounds kinda like an old cadillac or something. I'm taking the car in next week for the 20K service, any opinions on what this might be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
BTW: Yes I always use 92 octane gas and Mobil 1 15-50 Synthetic

motronic control has anti-knock sesors
all audi's have motronic engine control systems which have antiknock sensors in each cylinder, this is supposed to eliminate any "knocks" that happen. If i were you i would get it in to the dealership so they can have a technician look at it.
