engine light?
hey guys! i just bought my first audi in december...97 A4...i love it however my engine light came on...i took it to a service place and an audi dealership, but neither could find what was wrong. it goes off but comes back on a few days later. its really starting to **** me off... does anyone have any idea what it could be?

he probably doesnt even know what a code is....
he is still in the CEL = something wrong stage.. where "something wrong" is a distant thing that the dealership is supposed to fix.
Odds are he has no clue what a code is or even that there are hundreds of different ones the car can throw.

That's the way to keep new people around! Maybe some encouragement or direction might be more helpful to a new guy rather than giving him crap...just a thought...

cicec2, if your CEL (check engine light) was coming on, there would be a code stored in the memory..
that the dealer could read. I don't know how they wouldn't know what could possibly be wrong. Maybe there is something you might be leaving out. There are a whole bunch of things it could be. Some more info would really be helpful! What's the car doing, what's it not doing, etc...
