Default Engine Miles?

How many miles on an A4 would be good enough to get for a college bound student? I am looking at a 2000 with 80K miles for $9,000 and i'm not sure if they are asking too much or if its a good deal. I have always wanted an A4 and now I have my chance to get one and i want to get one that will be reliable. Any ideas? Thanks...

Default 1.8t or 2.8 NA??

Some of these cars have over 250K miles on them, I have 172K shooting for 300k. But please remember, these are not hondas or nissans, they require maintenance and TLC to get them to last. A definite gearhead car!

Default Re: Engine Miles?

Well, it's a 1.8t and is very nice. I have about $8K to spend on the car and i just want to get the best deal for my money.

Default Keep this in mind. It may be a $9000 used car, but as far as maintenance

is concerned it's still a $30,000 car.

Default if you're not a car freak I'd skip an Audi. I've done all my own work and in the past 3 years I've

probably spent somewhere around 4-5k on it to keep it running. If you have money then go for it but just be aware stuff will break and its not always cheap

Default Just get a Civic/Accord

You don't want to deal with maintenance hassles while in school. After you graduate and get a job, then get the Audi.

Default agree with the above, I would get a civic/accord or something similar

while in school, you will spend quite a bit to maintain the Audi.
