Default engine oil recommandation
hi,i know this question had been raised before in the forum and i did some search,but i don't really get a defnite answer,since people in different weather have different suggestion. i had a 1.8t with giac chip,right now i am using mobil 1 5w 30,but one of my friend told me i should use 15w50 for chipped turbo car..right now i am kinda confuse..so pleace help me out he said if i keep using 5w30 and drive hard it will do harm to the engine..

i doubt you will harm your engine with 5w30. why does your freind think you should use 15w30?

Just keep your intervals to 5k miles and you should be fine with the 5w-30. Go to 0w-40 if you're really worried about it.

Default with your mild climate i might op for 10w- or 15w-....
you really don't need the increased cold start capibility of 5w-
