Engine Ping on Stock Computer??

Engine Ping on Stock Computer??

Would this usually happen? What are some possible causes and remedies? I have a '97 1.8T and it may simply be a octane issue with the gas but I want to see what other issues could be involved.

Ping is bad

if your not using 91 octane or better, thats the cause

this is what happens from "ping"

I've consistently used 94 but the last fillup by my friend used I believe 89. I'm trying to get a feel of what other issues it may be if the octane isn't the issue. Thanks.

I've had this on the occasional bad tank of gas...

I've had this on the occasional bad tank of gas on both Stock and APR chips. I try hard to purchase my gas from the same station. I do not buy gas from ones who I've bought Bad gas from. Sorry for stating the obvious.
