engine problems

I have a 99 A4 with only 44K miles on it. When I push on the gas my car starts to shake and I can tell a loss in pick up. It almost felt as if I had a flat tire. Then the engine light came one. This happened today. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with it? Maybe the ignition? a new plug?

No point in guessing if your light is on. See what code you get. My car was misfiring...

but didn't sound as violent as what you're describing. Good luck
