engine temperature

yesterday after starting my 1.8t, the temp gauge dropped abruptly and the car started shaking while i was at a stop light. needle went back to middle after about 30 seconds as i accelerated. is this normal? my car only has 700 miles.<p>very concerned

Proceed to dealership do not pass go!!

Nice break in job! What did you do to this engine. I most driver's hands it is nearly bullet proof. Did you over rev during break in or keep too constant speed for too long? Must be some reason for this.
