Exhaust Comparison

I am in the market for a new exhaust system for my '98 1.8TQM. I'm looking something that is truly cat back and not just a muffler. I was wondering if there was someone who has heard many of the major name systems and could rate them in terms of loudness and sound quality. I am looking for a quality performance sound and would like to stay away from anything that sounds remotely rice-like. Any side notes about any of the systems would also be appreciated.

APR's exhaust system is the expensive choice.

I have the fronttrak version. Full cat-back system for about $900 (they may be on sale this month tho). Isn't very loud at all, but is loud enough to be a great improvement from stock, a little growl to it... can't mistake it for rice. And thats all I know.

The Milltek is quiet and sounds very nice

Do it! I did it yesterday and it feels awesome.

A word to the wise though, greedspeed.com can get you a pushdown Neuspeed SS for $8 less than the UUC on sale at APR. I decided to go with the Neuspeed and really like it. Be warned that the install on a 98 for any shortshifter is a nightmare. Took me and plug1 6 hours, could probably have been done in 3 with all the right tools.
