Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can join the club! After a month long painstaking search for a good car at a decent price, I got a 1998 A4, 2.8/tip with every option, silver/black leather. Now, I'm looking to put nice all-season tires on it. What's good out there? I'm thinking between
Michelin/Pirrelli/Dunlop...

The previous owner of my car went with 225/50-16 Michelin XGT V and those tires were just fair. Horrible grip in anything but dry, clean tarmac.
I've had excellent experience with the Dunlop SP 5000 Sports and would recommend them highly. Try going up to a 225/50-16 if you want max footprint. It's the same diameter as the stock 205/55-16.
A friend of mine likes the BF Goodrich G-Force KDWS, but I find that they're a bit hard riding and loud. I think the Dunlops are very comfortable and offer great year-round grip.
