Fuel filter replacement tips?
I'm usually over on the C4-A6 forum where fuel filter replacement is a 5min job, but.....
I'm working on a 98 A4 Quattro and shocked to discover the location of the filter. Who's joke is that?
Anyway, was reading in your archives and found that some of you cut the bolt that holds the pinch strap, other's take the tank down.
I don't see how the tank can come down much since it strattles the rear diff and axles in 3 directions. I removed the 4 bolts from the main tank area on the filter side and that only allowed the tank to move down about an inch...then it starts hitting right inner CV joint shield.
So, could someone give me some details?
Thanks!
I asked a tech at my local dealer if he would do it on the side for me....he said NO WAY, THAT JOB SUCKS!
I'd change fuel filters all day long before I do a clutch on this bitch again.
