gear shift **** automatic

My friend has a really cool gear shift **** for an automatic that he is willing to give me, but i dont know how to take mine off, i have a 1996 a4 automatic. Is there anyway to just take off the gear shift **** by unscrewing or pulling or something?

Put the selector in 4th. Slip the chrome trim off of the bottom of the ****. Pull the button as far

out as you can. Pull sharply up on the ****, and try to not punch yourself in the eye.

you'll probably need the SPP tip mod from supremepowerparts.com i would imagine, unless you have some other idea worked up. refer to my post @ audizine:
