...that I have to push in the goddamn clutch to get the engine to turn over. And while I'm bitching, the doors require a little more effort than any of the other Audis to close. Unless I consciously close them, they end up not closed tight. I also need to recode my locks so that pushing the remote once unlocks the whole car.

minor items - but yea...once something gets in your head - it drives you nuts. I assume you cleaned and regreased your door hinges? Last time I did that - they were like butter again. All doors or just one?
(how do you like your Miata? I'd love to get one, around your same year model, as a fun car)

It's all the doors, especially in the cold weather. And yeah, I regreased them.
That's really minor compared to the stupid clutch thing. Sucks to to out to the car in the freezing cold and not be able to just reach in a fire it up. Boxer short clad *** on freezing cold leather FTMFL.
I love the Miata...even though it suffer from the same clutch must be depressed to start design. The Miata is like a big go-cart. Tons of fun on the street, a blast on the track, and supercharged/intercooled to scare off nasty ricers. :-)

As regards the door thing....
They do this to prevent car jacking. Someone many years ago recoded the ECu to open all doors and his car got stolen when a thief jumped in the passenger side that was open...
Food for thought.....
I hate the clutch crap too...
