IMO, if you just take it easy the last few miles before you reach your destination, you should be fine. Use your best judgement. Some people are more cautious than others.
I've had my Wett chip for 2 yrs and 30K miles with absolutely flawless performance. I have been a regular on this forum since 5/97 and do not recall a single turbo failure that was proven to be caused by a performance chip. In fact, I think I've read more about turbo failures and turbo wastegate rod failures on NON-chipped cars.
Will a chip affect life? Absolutely, YES! But if your turbo wears out at 140K instead of 150K, do you really care? Life's too short, get more horsepower! ;-)
In summary, as Nike says, "Just Do It!"<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=161"</a><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/a4registrydl.jpg" BORDER=0></a>
