GIAC Chipped - VAGing problem

Ok, so i got a GIAC chip for my 00 1.8Tqm

The chip is great and i love the power but i cant seem to vag the car now. It doesnt get any reading on any of the modules. Everything else on the car is stock.

Did i hook up the ECU wrong?

BTW; Got the complete ECU with the GIAC chip from some guy on auction. All help is appreciated

Sounds to me like there is something wrong with either the ECU or the chip.

Did you try putting your stock ecu back in and check if the vag works?

Does the car run?

If the car runs, the issue is probably with your VAG cable. Take apart the serial connector, and examine each wire to make sure it's still making contact with the pins. If you don't have a connector that comes apart easily (newer models don't) disregard...it's probably not the cable. The newer cables are better constructed than the older cables ross-tech used to sell.

It's most likely your ECU.

Completely stock other than ECU. I also VAGed a friends car and it worked fine.

Car runs fine and actually lots of power+very smooth.

Appreciate the advice
