GIAC question

Just wondering what the cut off (red line) is for a GIAC chipped 97 1.8T Quattro automatic.
I also heard that it's a good idea to put swap the bpv for one from a TT. Is that necessary?

7100??? I'm new to modding Audi's. I just picked up a used ecu and appearantly it's chipped with GIAC and it redlines at 6500. Is there any reason why that is? Please don't say I got jacked.

what do you mean? Do you hit the cut off at 6500?

explain what happens.

Uh - redline is redline no matter what. The rev limiter is jacked to 7100 rpm by the GIAC software

I just opened up the ECU and there is a GIAC chip in there. Any ideas why it would cut out at 6500? Should I replug it and let the car sit in the "on" position for a bit longer before I start it? Will that help?
