Have you ever noticed the latch lever has both a LH or RH cable mount?

They have the latch set up for LHD or RHD. A secondary idiot cable could be attached to the unused RH side end of the lever on the latch and routed beneath the bumper. :P

Um.. Don't think so. And if we did, you probably removed it with your cranium...

each time you clobbered yourself on the hood..

I recall that one was redundant..
