hands-free and coding?
Hi, well since I couldn't get this answered in the A6 forum, I figured the usually very active A4 gang may have some insight for me...
Anyhow, could anyone tell me that after an installation of a cell phone to use the built-in hands-free setup (mic. and speakers with radio muting), does the car need to be "VAG CODED" to enable this feature?
Any input, as always, is appreciated.

No. Not at all. mic and speaker are direct wired, and does not go thru...
the car's systems (Bose). The radio muting is wired to the head unit.
Non-bose does direct speaker output to one selectable speaker, front right or front left, but again, this is part of the function of the radio, and does not involve and control units accessable by the VAGtool

OK...well...
Then maybe the Motorola Mobile SE that I installed just isn't fully compatable. The mic. seems to work fine, but I don't hear anything from the speaker. Shoot...so much for hands free.<p>dferr
