having trouble with programing remote...

So, if i understand correctly, you have to have one key in the ignition while you lock the car from the outside, then you have to push unlock on the key thats in the ignition, wait six seconds, push it again. Is that right? Seems strange because unless you open the window you need two people.

Uh, no you don't. One person does it

You turn the key to "on", close the door, and lock the car. Proceed with the programming outside the car.

If you have a transponder, I think you might end up visiting the dealership or someone w\ a VAG

open the rear window and reach around....PIA, but works...

I didnt want to take apar the remote...it already has a small piece of paper stuck in it to keep it together from the previous owner...
