Head unit problem,

Head unit problem,

Ok guys, I am taking out my sub and amp, in my 99 a4 2.8q. I got everything removed except I can't get my head unit out, I took out all the screws below the a/c unit, the screws between the a/c unit and head, unit, and the one above the head unit, The darn thing still doesn't come out, I looked in FAQ, couldn't find where the log on it. Its prolly there and I'm an idiot. ack, any help would be appreciated.

You need special tools to unlock the headunit

or a nail file might do in a pinch.

I have an aftermarket, head unit, so I got that figured out, I assume that the head unit, the a/c unit all comes out in one piece, or do we need the special tool when I have aftermarket one also?

if you have aftermarket, you probably have an adapter plate

you've got to figure out how to remove the adapter plate, there are two screws under it that hold the rest of the assembly in place.

ok, wouldn't that mean removing the a/c unit also, honestly I am only looking into disconnection the wires from the amp, and keeping the unit in the car
