Headlight switch Problem
So about a year ago, my headlights stop working. The only way I could get them turned on was if I pulled the switch towards me and held it, turning on the high beams. My mechanic checks it out and thinks it's the switch. So he replaces it with a new switch and everything works dandy.
Tonight I'm driving home and notice there are cars flashing me. Turns out that my lights weren't on, even though the switch was in the on position. So I flick it back and forth a few times, and it turns on. It looks like the same problem is coming back. Anyone experience anything like this? I'm guessing the switch must have some kind of warranty since it was replaced only a year ago. Any help is appreciated.

It seems like the headlight switch problem is becoming quite common...
... I've had mine replaced too. Audi replacement parts are covered for 1 year or 20000km or the new vehicle warranty period, it the parts are installed by Audi or an authorized service centre.

Argh... yeah, I just searched the archives and found tons of other posts. I'll try giving AoA a
call if I keep seeing this, but I doubt they'll do anything. Seems like a common enough problem that they should address...

hmmm...but the first time this happened to me, I drove home over 30 miles with the high beams on in
bypass mode... and still no luck. That should have been plenty of time to warm up... we'll see. oh yeah, I saw in the link u gave me that it happened to a friend? Did that work for him?

Don't know. I forgot to ask him about it. For the meantime, we worked out a...
...ghetto-ed out quick fix. Simply spliced the headlight lead from the switch to the key ignition. That way, when he turns the car on, the lights stay on. Ghetto, but at least he can use his headlights.
